Place based Economic Inactivity and the Significance for Policy

Ulster University
Northern Ireland has the highest rate of economic inactivity in the United Kingdom, and the gap with the national average has increased in recent years. This project aims to provide a clear assessment of the current evidence-base around multidimensional place-related determinants of economic inactivity.

The series of reviews will cover:
The project will lead to a consolidated report covering the six review areas and an accompanying series of evidence bulletins to summarise the key findings
The project is being undertaken by Dr Stuart Henderson, who is based in Ulster University Business School, and Dr Irene Bucelli, who is based in the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE) at the London School of Economics.
